As a white label designer, I absolutely love helping with Webflow development services for a website my client has already designed. I mean, don’t get me wrong, designing a website is super fun too, but there’s something so nice about diving straight into the technical work of website development.
(Especially because Webflow is one of my favorite platforms!)
So when Karely came to me wanting to outsource a Webflow web development project, I was pumped. And that one project turned into a long-term white label partnership that allowed her to raise her prices like crazy for her own agency, say yes to way more projects, and take maternity leave.
Here’s how the whole thing went down.
Karely and I met on Facebook, after I DM-ed her about something she had posted in our group. She runs her own design agency, called Branding For Women, and works for another company as a marketing director.
She’s a kind and cool person who’s passionate about helping women make their impact through branding and someone who loves design (she got her bachelor’s degree in it!).
(That’s right, projects, with an “s” because Karely and I worked on multiple Webflow website builds together!)
The thing for Karely was that while she loved designing websites in Figma, she didn’t love developing on Webflow. And that’s where I was so excited to help.
(Something a lot of my white label design clients don’t realize is that when you outsource your design work to a white label partner, you don’t have to outsource the whole project. So many of my clients outsource the parts of the process they don’t love so they can stick to what they do. I call them my Favorite-Things-Only Fionas, and I love them!)
The first project we worked on together was this amazing website she had designed for a super cool woman on a mission to support people with medical trauma and PTSD.
Problem was, she didn’t want to develop it. So I did:
After outsourcing web development to me for that first project, Karely started being able to take on other clients because she “was able to add Webflow and WordPress as platform options!”
(And by the way, friend, this was Karely’s first experience with hiring anyone!)
A little later on, Karely came back with something totally different. She was working as a marketing director for another company, had designed their website in Figma, gotten the designs approved, and needed support with developing the website on Webflow.
And this Webflow project was a beast (over 20 pages).
My job was making sure it matched her design (of course), functioned on mobile, and was responsive in all the ways we needed it to be. And, not to toot my own horn too much, but… I knocked that whole thing out for her in just a couple of weeks!
(This is the part where I jump in to remind you that if you’re a designer wanting to outsource web development for Webflow, Showit, or Shopify, I can help! Or if you’re wanting to outsource other types of design work, I can probably help with that, too.)
We also worked together on a bunch of smaller Webflow projects, some of which were 2-3 page Webflow websites, and others were landing pages.
We partnered on those projects while Karely was getting ready to go on maternity leave and, in her words…
“You covered my pregnant butt and maternity leave! And beyond! You saved me from having to spend my super pregnant third trimester evenings learning Webflow, and I could rest instead.”
Okay, can I be totally honest with you? I don’t know how the heck to pick which reviews to share about Karely’s experience with outsourcing web development because they all feel important.
I could tell you that I was her first experience with outsourcing any design work and how she said, “you gave me the confidence to let go of parts of my business, with no regrets!”
Or, tell you the insane ROI she described, “I went from charging $1,800-2,500 for a basic brand package to $5,000-8,000. Part of that is inflation, but it’s mostly from being able to level up my deliverables. Website design + build pricing has increased from $2-4,000 to $5-8,000.”
Or how her life has totally changed when it comes to work-life balance: “No more late nights for me! I keep regular working hours now. Outsourcing [web development] to you was the first thing I did when I was experiencing burnout, and I haven’t looked back.”
Or what she values about our white label partnership, “You are an amazing communicator, extremely talented, and always open to a project. Big projects, small projects, different styles… you consistently nail it. What a unicorn you are!”
(I guess I just ended up telling you it all!) Anyway…
Besides the cool fact that this white label partnership brought over $20,000 in work (a fact that’s so cool because finding a 20K client as a designer is a totally different challenge, but with white label partnerships is a bajillion times easier)...
Karely was a dream client for me because she was awesome, knew what she wanted support with, and totally trusted me.
And the fact that I not only got to help her make more money, avoid burnout, enjoy her maternity leave, and get to be more present with her kids (she has 2 now!) lights me the heck up.
(That’s emotional ROI and one of the reasons I love being a white label designer!)
Or outsourcing web development of any kind to me? Or outsourcing other kinds of design work? I’d love to help.
